Bahawalpur: The divisional administration has announced a project aimed at the preservation of heritage, monuments, and historical places – while beautifying Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar Districts to encourage tourism and recreational activities, according to news published on April 07.

Reportedly, the decision was taken at a high-level meeting with Divisional Commissioner Dr Ehtesham Anwar Mahar in the chair. The said meeting was attended by deputy commissioners of three districts, and officials of the Parks and Horticulture Authority and Cholistan Development Authority.

The meeting decided to utilize all available government resources to beautify the three districts and formulate public-private partnerships to establish recreational facilities in the identified areas. As per the plan, the public parks, playgrounds, and historic buildings will be rehabilitated and renovated. The deputy commissioners briefed the meeting about ongoing uplift projects in their respective districts. Commissioner Mahar instructed them to create awareness among people regarding waste management in addition to creating more recreational facilities.
