Islamabad: A heritage audit and analysis of national heritage sites for their uplift is being planned by the government, according to a news source. This audit will analyse the condition of these sites and buildings and determine what measures need to be taken.
Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood, who also holds charge as heritage minister, told a Chinese delegation that the government would make these sites more appealing and accessible to the public by investing in them. He added that a national task force on heritage was going over heritage buildings to assess and devise a strategy for their upkeep and utilisation. He stated that the country has some of the best heritage sites in the world, and when they are developed, they will be extremely popular.
