Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has sought help from Federal Government to resolve issues related to boundary-sharing with Islamabad, according to a news report. This has come after the residents living in the overlapping area didn’t pay their taxes to the civic body, which caused an annual loss of PKR 357 million.
The RCB wrote a letter to the Federal Government to get the issue resolved between itself and the Capital Development Authority (CDA). An official from the RCB said that all boundaries of the cantonment lines have been clearly defined under the Cantonment Act 1924. The dispute has risen over 2,509 acres of land which fall under the ambit of the RCB. In the letter written, the RCB said that it is facing a loss of PKR 357 million, as well as a loss of security control, in these localities.
