Islamabad: Chief Commissioner Amir Ali Ahmed on Wednesday announced the Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s decision to increase the height limit for high-rise buildings in Islamabad, a news source reported. Further, he stated that the city’s new master plan would include this stipulation; aimed at preserving the capital’s green areas.

Ahmed met with a delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to discuss Islamabad’s new masterplan, persisting parking problems, encroachment issues, expansion and construction of link roads, and new building by-laws. He reassured the RCCI members that the CDA would make all-out efforts to resolve problems faced by the city’s business community.

In response, RCCI President Saboor Malik informed the commissioner that the Rawat Industrial Estate link road should be constructed on an urgent basis in order to expedite industrial activity in the area. He asked the CDA to remove land encroachments on an immediate basis, and offered the RCCI’s assistance in the process.
