Abbottabad: The 59-kilometer long Hazara Motorway that is an important part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project ,will be completely open to traffic from next month, a news source reported.
The final 12-kilometre section from Shah Maqsood Interchange to Havelian is under construction currently. It will be completed and made operation next month. The motorway will provide a modern six-lane road facility to the people of Havelian, Abbottabad, Mansehra and adjoining areas.
The project had been launched in November 2014 and it was scheduled to be completed by December 2017. The other 47-kilometre section of the Hassanabdal-Havelian Motorway from Burhan to Shah Maqsood interchange had been made operation last year. The remaining will become operational now.
The 6-lane fenced Motorway will reduce travel time from Islamabad to Havelian down to just 30 minutes and will also connect to Havelia Dry Port.
