Mansehra: Hazara Division Commissioner Zaheerul Islam has announced the government’s intention to open the Hazara Motorway next month (October) in a bid to facilitate traffic movement, according to news sources.
The commissioner said in a press briefing that this artery was strategically important and was being developed under the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC) project. He added that in three to four weeks, this highway section will be opened for vehicular movement and would drastically reduce the traffic burden on the Karakoram Highway.

He revealed that the work on Havalian-Mansehra part of the Motorway was near completion; adding that it required finishing and patchwork.
The commissioner said that the highway would have been inaugurated in August, but the heavy rains delayed the inauguration.

As per reports, commuters who use Karakoram Highway on a frequent basis have hailed the government’s decision to open the Hazara Motoway.
