Haripur: Haripur Bypass project, after its completion, will benefit the residents of 22 villages in Haripur district, a news source quoted Communication and Works minister Akbar Ayub Khan. He was talking to officials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority (KPHA), who briefed him on the project.
The minister directed the officials to ensure the completion of Haripur Bypass project within the stipulated time, saying the project is of immense importance for the local residents.
He said the project would facilitate people travelling between Hassanabdal and Abbottabad and reduce traffic congestion on GT Road. He also directed the KPHA officials to ensure availability of access routes to all link roads of Haripur Bypass.
The development comes after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan ordered land acquisition for CPEC City, Nowshera, and a cement plant in Haripur.
During a meeting on Swat Expressway held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Peshawar, Khan hinted that Swat Expressway may be extended from Chakdara to Mingora. He also instructed that work on the section of the expressway from Katlang Interchange to Chakdara be accelerated.
The meeting was also attended by Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Akbar Ayub, Principal Secretary to CM Mohammad Israr, Managing Director Swat Expressway Brig Ashfaq, and other high officials.
