Gwadar: The port city is expected to see the construction of the country’s first man-made island called ‘Chand Taara’, according to a news report. As per the details shared in the 75-page long Gwadar Smart City Master Plan document, this attraction will be established at a cost of PKR 10 billion and will serve as a central business district in the area; featuring shopping malls, amusement parks, five-star hotels, a museum, an expo centre, and other commercial facilities.

The planned Chand Taara Island will be located close to Marine Drive. It is expected to host the Gwadar Tower – set to become the country’s tallest building following its construction. According to reports, the island will be developed around this iconic tower that’s set to become a new icon for the port city.
