Gwadar: The federal cabinet on Tuesday (January 4) approved an agreement signed between the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority and the Chinese Ministry of Environment to set up 3,200 solar power generation units in the port city, according to news sources.

It was highlighted that these solar power units will help resolve the electricity issues in Gwadar. Planning Minister Asad Umar said that Gwadar will soon get solar panels with the assistance of China and the said project will start in March.

He also revealed that the solar units will arrive in January 2022 from China and their installation process will be completed by March. Minister Umar resolved that he will personally monitor the installation process to ensure that the people of Gwadar benefit equally from this initiative.
