Lahore: The Rotaract Club (a local effort of Rotary International) and the Baamsar Club have established the first-of-its-kind library installation in Gwadar, a news source reported. As per details, the facility sits inside a container located at the shore of the port city’s beach and currently hosts a collection of nearly 5,000 books.

The NGOs that worked on the project had received a book-filled container from the Rotary International in the United States and they turned it into a library. The land was provided by the local district administration.
The 40×10 container is furnished with bookshelves, racks, and chairs for readers and can accommodate up to 10 people at a time. The library’s collection features books on a variety of subjects like science, technology, law, and literature in English, Urdu, and Balochi.

The project aims to provide readers with a unique experience and add to attraction of the breath-taking beach at Gwadar on the Makran coastal belt. While Gwadar is attracting funds and development for its primary position on CPEC, the local and provincial governments are also working to boost tourism on Makran’s beaches.
