Taxila: The areas surrounding Gurdwara Punja Sahib are to be renovated and beautified, according to a news report. The Hassanabdal Municipal Administration has drafted a plan in this regard.

Assistant Commissioner Adnan Anjum Raja made this announcement while talking to the press on Wednesday. He said that these measures will be completed before November 15, when Sikh pilgrims would be visiting the city for Baba Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary. He revealed the details of this beautification project as well.
Raja stated that the road leading to the temple would be expanded, and the swimming pool will be redesigned. A park will also be established. Under this plan, the authorities will also add greenbelts to the front and back ends of the temple.

In addition, a master plan will be created to revamp the sewerage and drainage system of the city, so that sewage does not mix with spring water. This will include a new water system for the Gurdwara itself.
