Islamabad: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and the Intelligence Bureau Employees Cooperative Housing Society (IBECHS) have reached an agreement to build an advanced Expo Centre in Gulberg Greens. This agreement was forged during a visit by a delegation from ICCI, headed by its President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, to the Gulberg Greens head office. The announcement came via a press statement issued by ICCI on Sunday.
The collaboration aims to contribute to national development, promote exports, and facilitate social and cultural events. Addressing the gathering, ICCI President emphasized the Chamber’s readiness to collaborate with IBECHS for joint ventures aimed at attracting foreign investment. He highlighted that while Islamabad serves as a crucial diplomatic, governmental, parliamentary, and commercial center, it currently lacks a prominent Expo Center. The partnership between ICCI and Gulberg Greens, he asserted, would address this gap, serving as a significant step towards economic enhancement.

The proposed Expo Center would provide a permanent venue to showcase Pakistan’s exportable products, thereby bolstering exports. Drawing parallels with other countries like China and Turkey, where expos have contributed to increased exports and tourism, he expressed optimism about similar outcomes for Pakistan through the Expo Center.
President of IBECHS, Tariq Mehmood, assured the ICCI delegation of Gulberg Greens’ commitment to cooperating in national development, particularly in business activities.
