Lahore: Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday (January 4) has ordered the authorities concerned to start work on the elevated expressway from Gulberg to Islamabad-Lahore (M-2) on a priority, according to news sources.

CM Buzdar made these remarks as he chaired a review meeting for Gulberg-M2 Expressway in his office. Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Ahmed Aziz Tarar briefed the meeting’s attendees on the recently-announced project. Adviser Dr Salman Shah, Planning & Development Chairman Muhammad Abdullah Khan Sumbal and secretaries of transport and housing departments attended this meeting.
As per the details, the elevated expressway will ease the traffic burden on Multan Road and Canal Road and help travellers reach the motorway easily. The expressway will pass over Canal Bank Road, Ferozepur Road, Jail Road, Multan Road, and Bund Road to reach Babu Sabu Interchange.

Reportedly, interchanges will be constructed on Jail Road, Canal Road, Multan Road, Ferozepur Road, and Bund Road. The Gulberg Expressway will reduce the commute time to 40 minutes only.
