Reportedly, the LDA has already acquired land, amounting to 750 Kanals, needed for the project proposed in the past during the tenure of the exiting Government of Punjab. The plan was later dropped when the new government took charge in 2018 due to high project cost. To address the monetary aspect of the project, the incumbent CM has asked the LDA to complete the project under the public-private partnership mode (PPP) mode of operation.
