Gujranwala: The Gujranwala Waste Management Company (GWMC) has been dissolved, according to a news report. The job of cleaning the city will be handed to the Municipal Corporation Gujranwala.
Gujranwala Waste Management Company was established in 2014 and during the last four years, PKR 6 billion have been released to the company. The mayor and other elected municipal and local officials have called for the dissolution of GWMC in the past. Now, the duties of cleaning the city will be handed over to Municipal Corporation Gujranwala.
The staff of GWMC will be transferred to Municipal Corporation Gujranwala and the notification on the matter will be issued after Eid-ul-Azha.
