Gujranwala: The Metropolitan Corporation Gujranwala (MCG) has announced to develop a food street compound in the city, according to a news source. This facility is expected to be constructed around the Jinnah Stadium and would feature local eateries known for providing high-quality food items.

The MCG has also reserved PKR 200 million for the project. Presiding over a meeting held in his office yesterday, Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner Zahid Akhtar Zaman directed his staff to take all necessary measures for setting up the food street.

He also directed the concerned staff to initiate rehabilitation work of dilapidated roads in Gujranwala. For this purpose, PKR 600 million has already been issued.

The commissioner also said that he would not tolerate any lag in work and will review their annual performance to determine which officers will continue to perform their duties. Zaman directed the staff to ensure that the priority projects are completed on time and as per the committed standards.
