Gujranwala: City administrators on Wednesday (June 3) organised a seminar to discuss the planning details for the formation of a master plan for the city, according to a news source. The purpose of the meet was to incorporate experts’ suggestions during the blueprint’s ‘ongoing’ developmental phase in order to meet the city’s increasing urban town planning needs for the next several decades.

Gujranwala Division Commissioner (DC) Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah, Local Government Director Sajjad Munir, Metropolitan Corporation Chief Officer Chaudhary Amjad Hussain, Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA) Director General Town Planning Khurram Shehzad were among other notable officers who attended the seminar.
Addressing the meeting members, Shah said that forming a master plan for the city is vital in order to meet the urban needs in the future. In this regard, coordination among various departments and experts should have already begun by now, he said.

Moreover, the commissioner also mentioned that the Punjab government is keen on developing the city’s infrastructure and urban facilities as it is an important industrial city. To meet the goals regarding availability of infrastructural facilities in the city, Shah said that work on preparing the city’s master plan should begin now.
