Gujranwala: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gujranwala Dr Khurram Shahzad has announced that the city’s DC complex would be equipped with a functional one-window cell facility for the promotion of construction activity within the area — a news source reported today (July 16). The timelines for the provision of approvals for private housing schemes and commercial properties are yet to be determined.

Reportedly, the DC issued directions on the matter in a high level meeting he was chairing. The session was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners Dr Rani Hafsa Kanwal, Zaheer Liquat, and Tauqeer Ilyas Cheema, as well as assistant commissioners and other high officials of the city.
Addressing the meeting, the DC further said that the purpose of establishing the one-window cell was to ensure the promotion of construction activity in the district, and for the provision of maximum facilities to builders and developers as per the law.

He added that a software was also being developed to limit contact between officials and the public, and to ensure that all tasks were performed on time.
