Faisalabad: The Punjab government has issued guidelines to industrialists to ensure the safety of their factory workers exempted – upon request – from the provincial lockdown condition, a news source reported. As per this rubric, these individuals are to be screened before entering the factory premises, while those exhibiting the symptoms of flu and fever are to be put on leave.

Other instructions include the workers’:
- Not being allowed to hug and shake hands; maintenance of physical distance
- Mandatory requirement to wear of masks
- Being required to wash their hands for 20 seconds after every two hours
- Refraining from sharing their plates, spoons and glasses
- Mandatory requirement to only touch ‘common use’ machines with with gloves
- Refraining from touching door handles and railings – with all workplace doors to be kept open

The industrialists have also been directed to call the government’s Coronavirus Helpline number: 1166 and to consult with local doctors right away in cases of emergency.
