He said this while addressing a seminar organized by the Institute of Urbanism, International Water Management Institute (IWMI), PCRWR and Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (HBS) on mitigating the flood danger in future. He said the groundwater recharge wells are an acceptable solution to the emerging problem of water scarcity in developing countries.
He also said that the current water level is not enough to support the increasing population as the resources are shrinking due to the lack of comprehensive policies. He proposed that rainwater storage methods such as artificial lakes in housing societies or artificial recharge wells will benefit rainfall management. With 60% of agricultural water coming from groundwater resources, diversified water resources are required.

It is important to note that Pakistan is one of the world’s most water-stressed countries, having the least amount of water storage capacity. According to reports, the major reason for this absence is a lack of policies and coherence among multiple organizations.
