Karachi: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is expected to perform the groundbreaking of the Sheikhupura-Gujranwala Road project today, according to the news sources.

According to details, the Sheikhupura-Gujranwala road project is being developed with an estimated cost of PKR 5 billion. This project is vital because it will connect two major industrial cities. Also, it was announced that a private firm will be awarded contract to maintain the road for the next 25 years.

Moreover, this road will span over 43-kilometres and will be developed under a public-private partnership model. As per the sources, PM Khan will be on a day-long visit to Lahore today and during this visit, he will make several important decisions in meetings with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, and other officials concerned.
