Bahawalpur: The authorities concerned will carry out the groundbreaking ceremony of South Punjab’s first business park in Bahawalpur soon, according to a news report. Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) President Javed Iqbal Chaudhry expressed his views on the matter at a press conference on Monday.

Chaudhry stated this would be the first business park in south Punjab, and the third in all of Punjab. The first was inaugurated in Faisalabad by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar some time ago, while the second was inaugurated by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan himself in Lahore last month.

He stated that the development work there was in full swing and this facility would span over 425 acres. The BCCI president also revealed that 150 parties had shown interest in this venture and had already been given consent by the industries department to set up their businesses in this park. He further stated that the cost of industrial land here had been reduced from PKR 18 million per acre to PKR 15 million per acre; making it more appealing for investors.
