Lahore: A meeting held recently to review the affairs of the Journalist Colony in Lahore was told that the ground-breaking for F-Block will be conducted within a few days, a news source reported. The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has completed the preparation of a PC-I for development work on the project.

Additionally, the meeting was informed that Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered Deputy Commissioner Lahore to identify 1,000 kanals in the suburbs of the city to be used for the second phase of Journalist Colony. Other provinces are looking into the providing land for Journalist Colonies, the most recent of which was announced in Balochistan.
Director General LDA was asked to issue certificates for the completion of electric work in the society and to hand over the electric work to LESCO without delay. Managing Director Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) was asked to provide practical options to take over the water and sewerage work in the colony.

Attendees were told that the new Board of Directors of Punjab Journalist Housing Foundation were going to allot plots to journalists given plots in B and other blocks. They will either receive substitute plots or be given possession over vacant plots.
