Aslam highlighted that under the ‘Protected Area Initiative’, the ministry would set up six model national protected parks in different areas of the country at a cost of PKR 2,400 million.
As per the publication, the Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) would establish these parks in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), Sindh, Gilgit Baltistan (GB), and in Punjab within Kheri Murat, Attock. He highlighted that the said ministry would fully fund these parks.
As part of the Billion Tree Tsunami Program, these parks would have proper management and preservation of the ecological habitats and wildlife with special focus on the eco-tourism and nature’s conservation, Aslam said.
