Karachi: Phase I of the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit project, which is being sponsored by the Federal Government of Pakistan, will be completed by June this year, a news source quoted Karachi Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (KIDCL) CEO Sauleh Farooqui. The Green Line project, which runs between Gurumandir and Surjani Town, was conceived to resolve traffic issues in the city.
The project was launched in 2015 and it will facilitate four million commuters on a daily basis as the project comprises several lines. Green Bus Line spans 19 kilometres and comprises 22 bus stations.
Under the phase I of this project, the civil infrastructure will be completed in the next three months, after which the route to connect Gurumandir with Numaish Chowrangi will be constructed in the second phase.
