Karachi: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar confirmed that Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service is ready to become operational today (December 25) and all the buses will shuttle the route between Surjani Town and Numaish Chowrangi, according to a news story published on Friday (December 24).

As per the details shared, the test run of the bus service was smooth and successful. Talking about the fare, it was mentioned that the fare will be decided by the Sindh government. It will range from PKR 15 to PKR 55, depending on the distance.

According to Federal Minister Umar, 60 passengers can travel on the seats and as many can travel standing in the two-portion buses without creating a crowd-like situation. Additionally, the buses can move at 50-kilometres per hour but the slow speed is recommended in most cases. It was disclosed, there are 20 stations located after every few kilometres with brief stopovers.
