Karachi: The Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) mass transit project on Monday has launched operations at full capacity, according to news sources. The mass transportation services will facilitate the route between Surjani Town and Numaish Chowrangi.

Previously, the project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on December 25 and the service launched limited operations. With the commencement of full-scale commercial service, the buses are operating 15 hours per day and charge a minimum one-way fare of PKR 15 (maximum: PKR 55).

The commencement of Green Line BRT’s service was also announced by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar through his official Twitter handle. He highlighted that the service encompasses 22 stations, 80 buses and runs 7 am to 10 pm. The bus stations are developed in ‘Surjani, Abdullah Chowk, Do Minute Chowrangi, Power House, Nagan Chowrangi, Jumma Bazar, Haideri, Board Office, Nazimabad Number One, Sanitary Market and Numaish’.
