Islamabad: The Climate Change Ministry decided that the total cost of the green projects, introduced by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan in the provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), will be equally shared by the federal government and the provinces.

An official, whose name was not disclosed, mentioned that the climate change ministry will also involve a third party to keep a check on the utilisation of funds. It was reported that the federal government has asked all the provinces to submit their PC-1 for the implementation of green initiatives.
Additionally, it was informed that the provincial departments will have the responsibility to implement the project while the federal government will be a monitoring authority. Responding to this development, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said that the federal government wants to make Pakistan cleaner and greener through green initiatives.

It is pertinent to mention that the PM has started several green initiatives including Clean and Green Pakistan and Recharge Pakistan, Protected Areas Initiatives, and the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami projects.
