Peshawar: Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has launched a grand operation against electricity theft in Mardan and Bannu circles with the collaboration of both provincial and federal governments, according to a news report. PESCO task forces have been conducting operations around the province.
PESCO task forces conducted operations in Hangu and Tall areas under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Hangu Shah Fahad, and Assistant Commissioner Tall Muhammad Ali Shah. A large number of illegal connections were removed in the operations and cases registered against those stealing electricity.
Dues worth PKR 200,000 were also recovered from defaulters. The people stealing electricity have been warned that zero-tolerance policy will be adopted against them, they will be arrested and cases registered against them.
The task forces are set to continue the operation and the areas where connections have been informed that the connections will not be restored until they clear the dues.
