Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has reaffirmed his intention to ensure that the government is geared towards the provision of all possible facilities to businessmen to boost economic growth in the country, according to a news source.
The PM was holding a meeting with a delegation of leading industrialists and businessmen at his office, and assured them that ease of doing business is a prime focus for the government, as it will lead to employment opportunities and help reduce poverty. He encouraged the assembly to present their proposals to improve the national economy for the government’s consideration. He remarked that policymaking and economic plans will be formulated in accordance with these proposals.
The tradesmen and business representatives offered numerous proposals for the promotion of increased investment, improved tax revenue, expansion of tax net, capacity building, job creation, institutional reforms and annual budget preparations.

The meeting deliberated on the proposals, and later the PM directed his cabinet to continue consultation with the business community in this regard.
The business community lauded the government’s efforts to facilitate businesses, and assured them of their trust in the new and improved business policies.
Amongst the attendees of the meeting were Mian Mohammad Manshsa, Ali Habib, Arif Habib, Khalil Sattar, Bashir Ali Mohammad, Saqib Shirazi, Shahid Abdullah, Shahid Hussain, Tariq Sehgal, Musaddaq Zulqarnain, and Sikandar Mustafa.

The government officials who were present for the meeting included Minister for Planning and Development Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Advisor to the PM on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Minister for Maritime Ali Haider Zaidi, Advisor on Trade Abdur Razak Dawood, Adviser on Institutional Reforms Dr Ishrat Hussain, and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi.
