Islamabad: Finance Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar stated that the incumbent government is committed to working in collaboration with the World Bank (WB) in a bid to achieve the goal of sustainable development in Pakistan, according to news published in the leading newspaper on May 4.

Dar met with a WB delegation, headed by WB Vice President (VP) for Human Development Mamta Murthi, to discuss collaboration for sustainable development. During the meeting, the FM appreciated the role of the WB and lauded the efforts made by Pakistan. He expressed gratitude for the financial and technical assistance provided by the WB.
Moreover, the VP highlighted the significance of investing in human capital, especially in social protection, women’s development, and population control etc. She emphasised the importance of community participation in executing development projects.

The meeting was attended by Special Adviser to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Revenue Tariq Pasha, Special Adviser to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Finance Tariq Bajwa, Special Secretary Finance, Secretary Finance, and other senior officers from Finance Division.
