He expressed his views on the matter during a virtual session of the steering committee on Pakistan Regulatory Modernization Initiative (PRMI). He opined that the government should reduce the number of departments in order to reduce hurdles in the way of simplifying the process of starting a business. He added that in this regard, the policymakers should look into establishing a one-window facility.
The KCCI president highlighted that the chamber understood the business infrastructure in the country so it should set up a think-tank to simplify the process of starting businesses. He added that the KCCI should also involve other stakeholders in this process.
Shahab also said that there was a need to upgrade the pre-partition legislations as per modern needs. He added that the government should also remove anomalies in the current legislation system and make it more comprehendible.
