Mansehra: MNA Salah Mohammad Khan has said that the federal government will spend PKR 5 billion on infrastructure development in Kaghan valley to promote tourism, a news source reported. The national assembly member was speaking at a public meeting held in the Sarwai area of Balakot.
He stated that Balakot happened to be the gateway to Kaghan, so the federal and provincial governments had prioritised its development. He added that the work on development schemes would begin in the summer.
Recently, the federal government also approved PKR 120 million for development schemes in the Lakki tribal subdivision. The amount was approved under the annual developmental programme to provide Bettani tribesmen with the basic amenities of life.
Under the said programme, new roads, bridges, and culverts will be built, and the existing roads in the tribal subdivision will be repaired.
Funds were also allocated for the livestock, forestry and related sectors. These projects are aimed at alleviating property issues, and promoting livelihood opportunities for the locals.
