Lahore: The Punjab government has allocated earmarked billions of rupees for developing roads in rural areas under its ‘Naya Pakistan Manzelain Asan’ programme, a news source reported.

Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar recently expressed his views on the matter. He was chairing a meeting to review progress on the infrastructure development being carried out in Lahore on Sunday.
He said that the government would provide funds to every district in proportion to its population. New roads will be constructed to facilitate the development of agriculture, energy, industry, mining, and tourism sectors.

The chief minister directed the departments concerned to build two-way roads for connecting cities of Punjab with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Moreover, he said that the rehabilitation and maintenance work on roads must be completed on a priority basis.
