Islamabad: The federal government has decided to make Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) the authority for Naya Pakistan Housing Project (NPHP), a news source reported.

For this purpose, the Cabinet Committee for Lawmaking will submit a bill in the parliament. The government will also empower FGEHF for planning and development of housing schemes for government employees. Working both as a housing foundation and authority, FGEHF will be able to acquire land for any housing scheme. It will also be allowed to collect maintenance revenue from the residents of these housing schemes.

FGEHF is a subsidiary institution of the Federal Ministry of Housing & Works. It is responsible for providing accommodation facilities to both retired and in-service employees of the government. It also caters to the special quota employees. Currently, up to 0.2 million government employees and special quota individuals are registered with the foundation.
