Lahore: The caretaker government has decided to pay the remainder of funds for ongoing development projects throughout Punjab, a news source reported. The decision was made in a meeting held under chairmanship of Punjab Chief Secretary Akbar Durrani.
According to details, PKR 42 billion for ongoing development projects of 48 government departments had not been released because of unavailability of funds. Now, however, the caretaker setup has decided to release the funds and the implementation on the decision has already begun. The contractors and companies working for different departments will also be immediately paid.
The treasury department has sent the new pro forma to the departments according to which the relevant departments will have to send new checks to have their dues cleared.
