Islamabad: The federal government has decided to extend the July 13 deadline for the commission to submit the recommendations pertaining to the revisions in the capital city’s master plan, a news source reported.
Formed in December last year, the body was tasked with redrafting the master plan within six months. As per reports, during the said period, the commission members finalised their recommendations, which are now being consolidated.

At the same time, the commission’s request for proposal to hire a consultant has also been completed, and the government is expected to hire a consultant soon. The consultant will complete almost 20 studies prior to commencing with the redrafting finalisation.

Moreover, the authorities concerned have decided to include additional members, including experts, in the commission for undertaking the redrafting work. According to a CDA spokesperson, the new names would be finalised soon and the commission was in contact with the interior ministry on this front.
