Islamabad: The government will establish as many as five technology parks across the country within a span of six months, a news source quoted Federal Minister for Science and Technology Azam Khan Swati. He was addressing the inaugural session of World Science Day celebrations at the Pakistan Science Foundation.
UNESCO Pakistan Director Vibeke Jenson was the guest of honour. Pakistan Academy of Sciences President Prof M Qasim Jan, ECO Science Foundation President Prof Manzoor Hussain Soomro and Pakistan Science Foundation Chairman Qaiser Majeed Malik among heads of S&T organisations, eminent scientists, teachers and a large number of students attended attended the session.
Swati said the government was working on a technology park in Lahore, adding that the incumbent leadership was committed to invest in human resource development.
Swati, while expressing the resolve to achieve relevant targets in six months, was of the view that no country could progress without science and technology.
