Islamabad: The federal government has decided to allocate funds worth PKR 22 billion for tribal areas in the upcoming budget for the (fiscal year) FY2019-20, a news source reported.

Adviser to the Prime Minister (PM) on Establishment recently expressed his views on the matter during his meeting with officials from the Planning Commission.
As per reports, the Finance Division has proposed funds worth PKR 100 billion for several projects including allocation relief and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (PKR 32 billion); security enhancement for tribal districts (PKR 32 billion); development of tribal districts(PKR 22 billion); PM’s Youth Programme (PKR 10 billion), and PKR 4 billion for Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC).
The government has also decided to introduce a special agricultural reforms package for tribal districts in a bid to improve efficiency and productivity in the farming sector.

Other planned facilities include the construction of modern roads, two degree colleges, a sports complex, grid stations, and a solar power project to address the region’s energy crisis.
