Lahore: The Punjab government will spend PKR 130.73 million on the beautification and rehabilitation of Sagian Road bypass and Phool Mandi, news sources reported on May 28. Under the project, the entrance and exit points of the interchange will be beautified.

Reportedly, the government has issued a work order to the lowest bidder for the project. HRD Construction won the bid at PKR 130.75 million. The project is slated to be completed within a period of three months. As per the detailed order, the contractors will beautify the entrance and exit points with artwork, painting of roadside fences, and plantation on both sides of the road.
The work order for the project was issued by Lahore Development Authority’s (LDA) Chief Engineer-II, Mazhar Hussain. In related news. LDA Chief Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited the Sagain Road interchange project construction site and examined the ongoing development work. The chief was informed that 55 % of the development work worth PKR 3.40 billion had been accomplished.

The contractor will construct a 4.4-kilometre road on both sides from Ravi Bridge to Phool Mandi Chowk, a 1.2-kilometre road from Phool Mandi Chowk to Lahore Shiekhupura road, and a 3.1-kilometre road from Phool Mandi Chowk to the Faizpur Interchange. In addition, sewerage work in the area will also be completed to resolve the long-standing water problem. Moreover, the completion of the project would benefit 100,000 vehicles every day.
