Lahore: The Punjab government on Thursday (September 23) decided to withdraw the proposed increase in property tax in the upcoming cabinet meeting, according to news sources.

Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal met with Lahore Chamber & Commerce Industry (LCCI) President Mian Tariq Misbah and decided to reverse the increasing ratio of property tax. During the meeting, the provincial minister apprised the LCCI president regarding the business-friendly initiatives the government will adopt in the next few months.

Moreover, the government might introduce the bill in the Punjab Assembly session starting today (Friday) to amend the Finance Bill 2021. It was reported that three more amendment bills will be introduced related to Evacuee Property and Displaced Persons Laws, Punjab Wildlife Protection, and Punjab Board of Revenue. In addition, the Punjab Commission for Regularization of Irregular Housing Schemes Ordinance 2021 (amendment) will also be presented before the house.
