Karachi: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated on Sunday that the Government of Sindh would provide alternative housing before razing the residential units found to be encroaching on the city’s storm drains, a news source reported.

Bilawal further said that the provincial government has to clean the storm water drains but will not ‘leave people homeless’. He said that the green line project has also impacted the city’s drainage system and will need to be soon fixed.
The statement comes on the backdrop of announcements made by both the provincial and the federal governments to improve the infrastructure of the largest metropolitan of the country including fixing its water supply system, sewerage and drainage system and the solid waste disposal system.

Moreover, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan announced a PKR 1.1 trillion package for the aforementioned improvements which will be spent on the city in a timespan of three years, and will also be used to fund various developments in the city.
