Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mehmood Khan on Monday stated that the provincial government would protect the agricultural lands while promoting construction sector in the province, a news source reported.

During a meeting of the KP cabinet, the CM said that fast-track promotion of construction and housing sectors was one of the priority areas for the government. He added that despite steps taken to boost these sectors, the provincial executive would also protect the agricultural lands at all costs.
CM Khan highlighted the need for a comprehensive strategy on protecting agricultural lands. To this effect, he directed all relevant departments to collaborate and devise a workable strategy.
During the meeting, the KP CM also ordered all provincial departments to review their laws that conflicted with those of other departments. He further directed them to propose the necessary amendments in order to remove the discrepancies.

The CM asked all departments to formulate rules under their new legislations if they have not done it already. He directed them to devise the rules and submit to the cabinet for approval.
