Peshawar: Minister for Communication & Works (C&W) Akbar Ayub Khan has said that the construction of roads in all Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts figured as a top priority for the government, and that under the provincial roads infrastructure project, particular focus would be placed on the development of roads in the province’s southern districts – a news source reported.

He added that roads to help improve mineral or tourism industries would be constructed on a priority basis. He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with a delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The C&W Minister also directed that the consultant hired for the project should meet all the laws, regulations and requirements.

Secretary C&W Muhammad Shahab Khattak, Project Director Muhammad Tariq and other high officials also attended the meeting.
The ADB delegation members informed the minister that the provincial roads infrastructure project would be initiated in a number of districts in a bid to repair the existing road infrastructure.
