Islamabad: The Ministry of Industries and Production on Monday (March 07) announced a PKR 8.28 billion Ramzan relief package for the masses, news sources reported. The package will be disbursed through the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) by subsidising 19 household consumable items.

As per the reports, the ministry told Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) that the USC network had been chosen to implement the package, as it is the largest utility network in the country present in all four provinces. In this regard following subsidies have been planned:
PKR 4.050 billion subsidy on vegetable ghee
PKR 2.534 billion subsidy on floor
PKR 750 million on sugar
PKR 300 million subsidy on oil
PKR 125 million on black tea
PKR 50 million on white gram
PKR 50 million on gram floor (baisen)
PKR 50 million on milk
PKR 50 million on spices
