Islamabad: Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar has sought details on government-owned residences sized 2-kanal and above, a news source reported on March 15. The database of these houses will be tabled before the upcoming cabinet meeting, revealed Tarar.

The minister made this announcement in a meeting held to review the progress of the identification of such residences. It was highlighted that the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Communications, and Capital Development Authority (CDA) have already submitted details in this regard:
The Ministry of Railways owns 438 residences
The Ministry of Housing owns 194 residences
The Ministry of Communications owns 2 residences
The CDA owns 5 residences

The sources revealed the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Works will coordinate with National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to create a database of these houses. Other ministries are also directed to provide details soon. Reportedly, the Civil Aviation Authority will also provide information on airports and airstrips that are not in use.
