Quetta: The Balochistan government has created two new districts and a division in the province, after which the province will have 7 divisions and 35 districts, according to media reports.

According to a notification issued by the Board of Revenue, the provincial cabinet authorised the separation of Zhob into two divisions, Zhob and Loralai. Loralai division comprises the districts of Loralai, Duki, and Musakhail. The Zhob division, on the other hand, will include the districts of Zhob, Sherani, and Qila Saifullah.
Furthermore, by splitting the Qila Abdullah district, two new districts are formed. Gulistan, Dobandi, and Qila Abdullah tehsils will be part of the Qila Abdullah district. The new Chaman district will comprise the tehsil Saddar Chaman and the city of Chaman.
In another development, Balochistan agreed to strengthen its collaboration with the federal government on development projects. Various topics were discussed during the meeting, including the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) automation system and the Budget 2021-22. According to Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani, this is the first time the PSDP has created an automation system and an app to help track data about the schemes.

In addition, an agreement for the beautification of Quetta has been reached with the Punjab government.
