Islamabad: Minister of Industries and Production Hammad Azhar on Tuesday revealed that the government has opened the dialogue with the provinces on proposals of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reopen the marriage halls, restaurants, tourism activities, parks and other public places, according to news sources.

Previously, the government had prepared a ‘Negative List’ – which included businesses that were not allowed to run during the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
As per the Twitter post by Azhar, it was highlighted that the consultation with provinces has been initiated to review and revise the sectors on the negative list. He also said that the government is also mulling the working hours of industries and markets.

Moreover, he said that the proposals of SOPs and enforcement methods will be gathered from provinces and subjected to the National Coordination Committee (NCC)’s final approval. The minister assured that the decision to this effect will be finalised in a few days.
