Reportedly, the government is planning to launch a lottery scheme to address the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) main concern of revenue spending on subsidies. In this regard, the government has started to consult legal teams to analyse the sustainability of the project. Furthermore, to make it more acceptable for the general public, the government has also decided to consult religious scholars. The scheme will operate on the same principle as it does in industrialised nations such as the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), the United Arab Emirates, and Malaysia.
