Islamabad: The federal government on Monday launched a National Job Portal to provide citizens with access to both public and private-sector jobs in order to tackle the country’s mass unemployment problem, a news source reported.

The portal ‘njp.gov.pk’ will contain the latest information on available jobs in both the public and the private sector. The website was developed by National Information Technology Board (NITB). Initially, it will contain information for only public sector jobs as the federal government departments and agencies have been instructed to advertise their jobs on the portal.

In the second phase, the jobs by provincial agencies will also be uploaded to the website and, lastly, the private sector jobs will also be advertised. Citizens will be able to apply for jobs on the portal from the comfort of their homes and will be provided with verified information on the jobs.
